Boryung Pharmaceutical Introduces 'Paid Vaccine Leave' for All Employees... 2 Days Off for Each Vaccination
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Boryung Pharmaceutical has introduced a 'paid vaccine leave' to encourage its employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Boryung Pharmaceutical announced on the 1st that it has been implementing the paid vaccine leave system for all employees since the 27th of last month.
Employees of Boryung Pharmaceutical who receive the COVID-19 vaccine are granted two days of paid leave: the day of vaccination and the following day. For vaccines developed with a single dose, such as the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, this applies; however, for vaccines like Pfizer, AstraZeneca (AZ), and Moderna, employees can receive up to four days of leave. These leaves are provided additionally without deducting from regular annual leave. Furthermore, employees who get vaccinated are also given 'delivery app gift certificates' as a token of encouragement.
Boryung Pharmaceutical began these measures on the 27th of last month, coinciding with the start of reservations and vaccinations for leftover COVID-19 vaccines. Since the early stages of the pandemic, the company has implemented flexible working hours and remote work, as well as provided free masks to all employees as part of its efforts to overcome COVID-19.
