[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Innotek announced on the 26th that it has obtained the 'Jaguar Land Rover Quality Certificate' from the global premium automobile brand Jaguar Land Rover.
The Jaguar Land Rover Quality Certificate is a system in which Jaguar Land Rover evaluates the quality level and delivery compliance of its partners' products annually and selects outstanding partners. Since vehicle electronic components are directly related to the lives of vehicle occupants and pedestrians, quality management is strict. Jaguar Land Rover is known for producing premium models, so its quality management standards are very demanding.
LG Innotek explained, "This is the result of consistently supplying DC-DC converters to Jaguar Land Rover since 2017 and being recognized for performance and quality." A DC-DC converter is a component that converts the high-voltage direct current power from the battery into low-voltage direct current suitable for internal vehicle devices.
LG Innotek has been recognized for quality by major overseas automakers and electronic component companies. It received the Quality Excellence Award four times from the U.S. GM in 2015 and from 2017 to 2019, and was selected as an excellent partner by Germany's Continental and Schaeffler in 2015 and 2016.
Previously, LG Innotek has repeatedly pursued quality innovation since 2005 with the goal of 'zero defects' in electronic components. It is actively promoting global certification acquisition and participation in standard development, thereby raising the level of vehicle quality management. Notable examples include obtaining ASPICE CL3 certification, a software development standard for automobiles, standardization of ISO 21448 for the development of the international standard for autonomous driving (SOTIF), and participation in the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC).
