The viral video is 1 minute and 56 seconds long, showing the baby panda clinging to the keeper's leg as if begging to play, and was released in mid-December last year. The main characters in the video are Pubao, the first female baby panda born in Korea at Everland in July last year, and keeper Gang Cheol-won.
The adorable baby panda acting like a child wanting to play together and keeper Gang, known as the "Panda Grandpa," create a fantastic chemistry that has gained great popularity on YouTube. The video surpassed 1 million views within 5 days of its initial posting on YouTube and currently has 10.3 million views.
An Everland official said, "While typical YouTube videos see a decline in viewership growth over time, the Pubao video has recently garnered 2.3 million views in the past month alone, maintaining its strong popularity."
In particular, the baby panda's cute and lovable appearance has stimulated not only domestic but also global fans, with viewers from overseas countries such as the United States and India accounting for more than half of the audience. Domestic and international viewers who watched the video left over 10,000 comments admiring the baby panda's cuteness, saying "So cute" and "Adorable."
Meanwhile, Pubao, living in Everland Panda World, recently passed 300 days old and has grown healthily to weigh 32 kg. Riding on Pubao's popularity, various companies have introduced collaborative products featuring Pubao as a model.
