On the 19th, the Pohang Southern Police Station in Gyeongbuk announced that they have booked and are investigating Mr. A on charges of intimidation and violation of the Animal Protection Act for throwing damaged cat carcasses into the neighbor's yard and roof. According to a petition posted on the Blue House National Petition Board and the animal protection organization "CARE," Mr. A, who lives in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, threw the cat carcass into the neighbor's house around 6 p.m. on the 12th.
This incident became known through a post titled "Stray Cat Carcass Desecration and Intimidation Incident" posted on the Blue House National Petition Board on the 17th. The writer claimed, "(Mr. A) had continuously verbally abused (my mother) over the issue of feeding stray cats," and "Eventually, he threw two cat carcasses into the yard and roof, and although we reported it to the police, Mr. A threw another carcass onto the roof two days later."

View original imageHe continued, "My mother, who faced the cat carcasses and cleaned them up while enduring all kinds of verbal abuse from Mr. A, is now suffering from nervous anxiety symptoms," and raised his voice, saying, "Thorough investigation and appropriate punishment must be carried out to eradicate animal hatred crimes that can even extend to humans."

On the 19th, CARE explained on their official blog that "The elderly neighbor's actions did not stop at one time," and "Even after the local police station came and took the case when the stray cat carcass was found in the yard, he killed another stray cat and threw it onto the neighbor's roof, and this act was fully captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV)."
They added, "Killing stray cats is a violation of the Animal Protection Act," and emphasized, "Repeatedly harming stray cats and using carcasses to intimidate others to stop feeding them is a serious offense and should be punished more severely."
Among the cat carcasses disclosed by CARE, one was split in half with only the lower body remaining, and the other was also severely damaged. CARE also released a photo of an elderly man throwing a cat carcass onto the roof.
