Three Police Officers Placed on Administrative Leave Over 'Sexual Harassment Group Chat' Involving Female Colleague
Police Chief: "Strict Measures Will Be Taken If Charges Are Confirmed"

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Amid reports that active police officers sexually harassed a female colleague in a group chat, the involved officers have been placed on administrative leave.
Kim Chang-ryong, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, stated in a written briefing on the 17th, "The investigation of the complainant has been completed, and three offending officers have been transferred to other departments and placed on administrative leave."
Commissioner Kim emphasized, "We are currently analyzing related materials, and once the analysis is complete, we will promptly conduct investigations into the offending officers. If the allegations are confirmed, strict measures will be taken."
The Police Agency's Human Rights Investigation Division has reportedly begun investigating three officers: Inspector A from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Audit and Inspection Office, Sergeant B from the Women's and Juvenile Division of a police station in Seoul, and Sergeant C working at a police substation in Seoul.

They are suspected of exchanging sexual conversations about a female police officer with former police officer D via mobile messenger. D was arrested and prosecuted in 2018 for sexually assaulting a female colleague while working at a police station in Seoul, and in July 2019, the Supreme Court confirmed a four-year prison sentence for him.
