View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gyeonggi Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters will initiate special alert duty for fire prevention from 6 p.m. on the 18th to 9 a.m. on the 20th in observance of Buddha's Birthday (May 19).
On the 17th, the Fire Headquarters stated, "During the Buddha's Birthday events, the use of fire sources such as candles and lanterns, as well as electricity, increases the risk of fire, so special caution must be taken when handling electricity and fire."
Earlier, on the 14th, the Fire Headquarters, together with the Namyangju Fire Station, conducted on-site safety consulting at Bongseonsa Temple in Namyangju to prevent fires at traditional temples in the province.
They inspected fire vulnerability factors during events such as the Buddha's Birthday ceremony and focused on fire prevention and the autonomous fire safety management by temple officials.
Bongseonsa Temple, a representative traditional temple in northern Gyeonggi, is the main temple of the 25th district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and is visited by many dignitaries and visitors on the day of the Buddha's Birthday ceremony every year.
