Dementia Overcoming Leading Organization Designation Plaque Ceremony

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that six organizations including the Hapcheon-gun branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, Daeyang Post Office, Hapcheon Cinema, Mita Home Care Welfare Center, Hapcheon Church, and Hapcheon Samil Church have been newly designated as dementia overcoming leading organizations.
Starting with Chokye Church early last year, the county has designated 2 leading institutions, 9 leading organizations, and 2 leading libraries, continuously providing dementia-related information to encourage participation in dementia overcoming activities.
In addition, Hapcheon-gun provides various benefits through the Dementia Safety Center, such as a full survey for early dementia screening for those aged 60 and over, registration and management of dementia patients, dementia diagnosis fees, dementia treatment management fees, cognitive and rehabilitation programs, and support for protective supplies (items necessary for patient care).

A county official stated, "Dementia is a disease that requires active participation from not only patients and their families but also the local community," and added, "We will continue to make efforts so that many related organizations and groups can be designated as dementia leading organizations and carry out active activities."
