One Construction Worker Also Confirmed Positive... Infection Route Under Investigation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] As COVID-19 appears to be spreading mainly in entertainment bars in Gwangju, health authorities are on high alert. Due to the nature of entertainment bars, where individuals are reluctant to reveal their identities and show uncooperative behavior during epidemiological investigations, health authorities are struggling to classify contacts.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 11th, 15 people were confirmed infected with COVID-19 and registered as cases 2519 to 2533.
Among them, 4 are related to entertainment establishments in the Sangmu district, 3 to a call center, 2 to previously confirmed cases, and 6 have unknown infection routes identified through symptomatic testing.
Cases 2526, 2528, and 2533 were confirmed as employees of an entertainment establishment in Seo-gu. Health authorities believe that this establishment is currently preparing to open and that there may not be many contacts, but they are making every effort to identify additional contacts.
Case 2532 was identified as an acquaintance of case 2518, who was confirmed positive the previous day, and was classified as ‘related to entertainment establishments.’
