Gyeonggi-do, "Apply for Mine Victim Consolation Payment" ... Deadline May 31
From July 27, 1953 to April 15, 2012, for Mine Accident Victims or Bereaved Families
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] As the application deadline for the government's consolation money for landmine accident victims approaches on May 31, Gyeonggi Province urged related victims in the province to actively apply.
According to the province on the 4th, the Ministry of National Defense has been accepting applications for consolation money for landmine accident victims from June 2019 to the end of May this year under the "Special Act on Support for Landmine Victims."
Eligible applicants for the consolation money are landmine accident victims or their bereaved families from July 27, 1953, to April 15, 2012.
In the Gyeonggi area, as of the end of March, a total of 185 landmine accident victims and their bereaved families were approved as recipients, and about 7.6 billion won in consolation money and medical support funds were paid.
A provincial official urged, "With the application deadline approaching at the end of this month, we hope that no residents suffering from landmine accidents miss the opportunity for compensation by submitting their applications."
Applications must be submitted with the required documents either by visiting or mailing to the "Victim Support Deliberation Committee (Room 421, Defense Convention, Yongsan-gu, Seoul)" under the Ministry of National Defense.

Upon submission, on-site fact investigations regarding evidence of landmine damage or the victim, witnesses, or references will be conducted, and consolation money and medical support funds will be paid based on deliberation and resolution.
