At 11 a.m. on the same day, Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin signed a business agreement for the donation stores with local representatives of the companies and held a ceremony to deliver daily necessities donated by partner companies to the donation stores. These partner companies agreed to support daily necessities worth 1.5 million KRW per month, totaling approximately 5.4 million KRW annually.
According to this agreement, Daegu City will install donation boxes for daily necessities inside the stores, and partner companies will assist citizens in placing the daily necessities they purchase while shopping into the donation boxes. The donated daily necessities will be delivered to neighbors in need through nearby designated food banks and food markets.
Mayor Kwon Young-jin welcomed the initiative, saying, "'Donors share the joy of giving, and neighbors receive hope and happiness'?the slogan under which the 'Donation Stores' started. We expect it to contribute to the promotion of local welfare through win-win cooperation between citizens and retail companies."
