Nepa Launches 'Eco Series' Products with Eco-Friendly Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nepa announced on the 27th that it will expand its eco-friendly products this year as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management policy.
Due to increased interest in ethical consumption and sustainable fashion amid COVID-19 this year, Nepa plans to introduce eco-friendly products with a 130% increase in quantity compared to last year.
First, to welcome the spring and summer seasons, Nepa launched the ‘Eco Series,’ consisting of waterproof and windproof jackets, T-shirts, and pants. The series includes products certified with a total of four eco-friendly certification marks.
The ‘Tex X Eco’ certification is applied to clothing that uses a certain percentage or more of eco-friendly and recycled materials. The global standard ‘GRS (Global Recycle Standard),’ which certifies compliance with environmental, social, and chemical responsibilities from yarn to sewing, is also applied. Additionally, the international eco-friendly certification standard ‘bluesign,’ which reviews whether the fabric and production process are safe for the environment, workers, and consumers, is applied. Eco-friendly certifications such as ‘Gore-Tex and Gore-Tex Infinium bluesign,’ which apply water-repellent treatment that reduces environmental impact from harmful substances to Gore-Tex and Gore-Tex Infinium materials certified by bluesign, are also included.
Representative products include the ‘C-TR Eco Spring Windbreaker Jacket,’ ‘Breeze Infinium Anorak,’ and ‘Breeze Infinium 2L Anorak.’
