Dobong-gu Provides 500,000 Won Employment Incentive for Unemployed Youth
Application and Registration for 'Unemployed Youth Employment Incentive' from April 26 to June 30... For Unemployed Youth Aged 19-34 Living in Dobong-gu, Within 2 Years After Graduation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is providing the 'Unemployed Youth Employment Incentive' to unemployed youth in Dobong-gu who are struggling to find jobs amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which has further worsened youth employment conditions.
The Unemployed Youth Employment Incentive is a Seoul Metropolitan City and autonomous district cooperative livelihood economy support project, established to support the employment of unemployed youth facing a crisis due to the decrease in youth employment rates and increase in unemployment caused by COVID-19.
Dobong-gu plans to invest 1.7 billion KRW of its own funds in this project.
The eligibility criteria are unemployed youth aged 19 to 34 with resident registration in Dobong-gu (born between January 1, 1986, and December 31, 2002), who graduated within the last two years. University (graduate) students, students on leave, and those currently serving in the military are excluded. However, even if registered with employment insurance, those working 26 hours or less per week or short-term workers employed for three months or less can apply.
The application period is from April 26 to June 30, and applications can only be submitted online via the Seoul Youth Portal.
Required documents include a resident registration certificate or abstract, employment insurance qualification history, and final academic graduation certificate (or completion certificate). Short-term workers must additionally submit a labor contract.
Applicants will be selected after verifying submitted documents and checking for participation in overlapping projects.
If eligibility requirements are met, the announcement will be made through the Seoul Youth Portal, and selected applicants will receive 500,000 KRW (mobile Dobong Sarang gift certificate) once per person sequentially.
Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu stated, “I hope that young people who continuously challenge themselves to open the closed door of employment amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic will wisely overcome this crisis through this support,” and added, “We will do our best to prepare and provide practical livelihood stabilization measures without blind spots for vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19.”
