Jeonnam Fire Department Strengthens Fire Safety Measures at Temples Ahead of Buddha's Birthday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 25th that it will strengthen fire safety measures for temples and wooden cultural assets in the province in preparation for Buddha's Birthday.
This is to remove fire risk factors from wooden cultural assets and traditional temples in advance and prevent fires in preparation for the Buddha's Birthday celebration events before and after next month.
To this end, 129 sites were selected, including major targets designated as cultural assets among 574 wooden and traditional temples in the province.
The headquarters and fire station special investigation teams will conduct special fire investigations by providing fire safety management guidance on the use of candles and lanterns, and training related personnel on the use of firefighting facilities.
In addition, fire safety consulting will be conducted by fire commanders visiting important wooden cultural assets and temples, safety education through special alert duty on Buddha's Birthday, and the establishment of an initial response system by forward deployment of key firefighting forces.
In particular, efforts will focus on enhancing autonomous safety management capabilities by urging fire prevention and safety management through non-face-to-face telephone consultations targeting personnel residing in traditional temples and hermitages.
