According to reports from SBS News on the 23rd, the Coast Guard has initiated its own investigation into Director A of the Rescue Safety Bureau (48) separately from the Blue House audit, and decided to suspend Director A from his position until the investigation is completed.
Once the anti-corruption office of the Blue House and the Coast Guard's own investigation are both completed, the disciplinary level for Director A is expected to be determined.
Director A, a police superintendent, made abrupt remarks such as "Women become victims of sexual violence like comfort women during war" and "There are no virgins these days" during a meeting attended by female police officers in early last month while discussing security-related topics.
Director A also mentioned women's underwear while talking about his own dating experiences and reportedly made several sexually harassing remarks.
