[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] A hands-on store where customers can experience Samsung Electronics' home appliances at KT stores and purchase them at discounted prices will open in the Geumho district of Gwangju.
KT announced on the 18th that it will open the 'KTxSamsung Home Appliances Collaboration Experience Store,' where customers can physically experience popular Samsung Electronics products such as Serif TVs and Bespoke home appliances at KT dealerships in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, on the 19th.
The first store is the Geumho direct management store located in the central area of a large apartment complex with high demand for home appliances in the Geumho district of Gwangju. KT plans to open two additional stores within the year, starting from Gwangju.
The KTxSamsung Home Appliances Collaboration Experience Store is the first attempt to apply a home appliance display space within a telecommunications store. Based on the unique purchasing tendencies of home appliances, which customers prefer to touch and experience before buying, KT and Samsung Electronics collaborated to plan this store.
The two companies designed the interior of the store to resemble a home living room atmosphere, allowing customers to experience products in a more comfortable environment. Targeting customers in their 30s and 40s who are highly interested in household appliances, the location was chosen considering the proximity to residential complexes so that customers can visit without any burden.
Visitors can quickly proceed from experiencing KT's representative Kids Land products to integrated consultation and purchase of home appliances in one space. By using 'Half-Price Choice,' customers can purchase home appliances at discounted prices. Half-Price Choice is a program that allows customers to buy various home appliances at discounted prices when subscribing to KT Internet and Olleh TV services.
Choi Chan-gi, Executive Director of KT's Customer Division Sales Headquarters, said, "Following unmanned stores for the MZ generation and experiential flagship stores, we have opened a collaboration experience store targeting customers in their 30s and 40s as a customer-oriented experience store that gets closer to customers. After opening, we will review visitors' feedback and improve in the direction customers want, such as displaying various home appliances and opening stores in suitable locations."

The first store, Gwangju Geumho Direct Management Store, operates daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is closed every Sunday. Wearing masks is mandatory. Demonstration devices are disinfected immediately after customer use. To commemorate the opening, customers who visit the store and experience home appliances will receive an air dresser aroma sheet worth 10,000 KRW as a gift.
