[Breaking] Hong Nam-ki "Commercialization of Autonomous Vehicles at Major National Hubs by 2025"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The government is launching paid demonstration services and pursuing the revision of related laws to commercialize autonomous driving services.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong stated, "This year, investment in future car R&D will be expanded by 37% compared to last year, and the current trend of strengthening investment will continue until 2025," adding, "We will focus R&D investment on six key technologies: batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, autonomous vehicle communication, automotive semiconductors, vehicle sensors, and autonomous driving software."
He also added, "We will support the advancement of internal combustion engine vehicles and the technology development needs of parts companies transitioning to future cars, and focus on the gradual expansion of deployment."
