Yangsan City, "Let's All Join the '10 Minutes' to Save the Earth"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 14th that it will hold a lights-out event for 10 minutes from 8 PM on the 22nd in celebration of the 51st Earth Day.
'Earth Day' is a global commemorative day that began on April 22, 1970, with the purpose of protecting the Earth's environment, triggered by an offshore oil spill accident that occurred in California, USA, in 1969.
The city will conduct the lights-out event targeting major landmarks such as the city hall, affiliated public institutions, Yangsan Tower, and Yeongdaegyo Bridge, turning off indoor and outdoor lights, shutting down electronic devices like computers, and encouraging voluntary participation from apartment complexes and others.
