Jeonnam Fire Department Goes All Out to Support COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) is making every effort to support COVID-19 vaccination to return to normal life.
Jeonnam Fire announced on the 11th that it is providing maximum firefighting support, including assigning dedicated ambulance teams to COVID-19 vaccination centers in the province.
Currently, vaccinations are being administered to seniors aged 75 and older at seven regional vaccination centers in the province (Mokpo, Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gurye, Haenam, Yeonggwang).
Starting from the 15th, all city and county vaccination centers in the province plan to open and begin vaccinations.
Accordingly, Jeonnam Fire has assigned dedicated ambulance teams to vaccination centers to prepare for patients experiencing adverse reactions after vaccination and deployed fire ambulance nurses to support the shortage of medical personnel.
Additionally, during the ongoing visits to 160 nursing homes and elderly welfare facilities in the province since February 26, ambulance vehicles are stationed until the completion of vaccinations to respond to emergencies.
In case of adverse reactions after vaccination, people are guided to immediately report to 119 to receive firefighting services.
So far, 24 emergency calls related to adverse reactions after vaccination have been received, and these patients were transported to emergency medical institutions using 119 ambulance teams.

Chief Ma Jaeyoon of the Fire Headquarters said, “We will conduct fire safety inspections at vaccination centers in the province to ensure smooth vaccination operations and do our best to prepare preemptive drills to respond to emergencies.”
