The county announced that from 5 p.m. on February 20 last year until the 8th, there were 36 confirmed cases, and with 7 additional cases on the 8th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 43.
On the 8th, 2 people, including 1 county office employee, tested positive, and on the 9th, 7 people, including 4 county office employees, tested positive. The county stated that all employees underwent COVID-19 testing on both the 8th and 9th, and the government building has been disinfected.
Additionally, since many people use the bathhouse, increasing the risk of infection, the county issued an administrative order to suspend bathhouse operations for 10 days starting from the 10th.
Mayor Moon said, "Although the infection occurred through work-related contact, I apologize for causing concern due to the confirmed cases among county office employees." He added, "The spouses of the employees who tested positive today have been placed under self-quarantine, and all public officials have been instructed to refrain from visiting restaurants, bathhouses, and multi-use facilities, and to avoid private contact outside of official duties, effectively living at a self-quarantine level."
He continued, "We also ask the residents to refrain from attending various gatherings and using multi-use facilities unless it is urgent."
