According to multiple media reports on the 7th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul stated, "We have started an investigation after a post threatening to assassinate candidate Oh was uploaded on an internet community."
The post was published on an internet community at around 8:40 p.m. on the previous day (the 6th). The netizen who wrote the post claimed, along with a photo of a knife, "I will assassinate Oh Se-hoon on April 7."

They also said, "We have already purchased knives and prepared contingency plans in case the assassination fails," and "Anyone who interferes with us will die."
