Early Voting Begins for April 7 By-Elections... Seoul 0.33%, Busan 0.27%
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Early voting for the April 7 by-elections began on the 2nd at 722 early voting stations in Seoul, Busan, and other locations. The overall early voting rate was recorded at 0.3% as of 7 a.m.
This by-election is being held in 21 locations, including two metropolitan mayors (Seoul Mayor and Busan Mayor), two basic local government heads (Ulsan Nam-gu District Chief and Gyeongnam Uiryeong County Chief), eight metropolitan council members (such as Gyeonggi Province Council and Chungbuk Province Council), and nine basic council members (such as Jeonnam Boseong County Council and Gyeongnam Haman County Council).
The voter turnout rates for the highly anticipated Seoul Mayor and Busan Mayor elections were 0.33% and 0.27%, respectively. In Seoul, out of 8,477,244 eligible voters, 36,221 voted, and in Busan, out of 2,958,290 eligible voters, 10,672 voted. During the last general election at the same time, the early voting rates in these two regions were 0.43% and 0.36%, respectively.

Early voting will continue until the 3rd and is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The locations of polling stations can be checked through election brochures, the Central Election Commission website, or portal sites.
