At Park's campaign rally held on the morning of the 31st in front of Taepyeong Department Store in Sadang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, Mr. A, introduced as a "28-year-old graduate student," took the stage.
Mr. A, who went up on stage, said, "I came here to correct the distortion that all young people in their 20s and 30s support candidate Oh Se-hoon," adding, "Although there was great dissatisfaction with the current government due to rising housing prices and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) scandal, we must calm our anger and choose a candidate who can resolve this issue."
He also said, "After watching the last two Seoul mayoral candidate debates, I thought Oh Se-hoon really wouldn't do."
It has caused a stir as Mr. A, who was introduced as an ordinary young voter supporting candidate Park, was later revealed to be a former Democratic Party official.
In response to the controversy, a representative from Park's campaign team explained, "It was not written in the plan that he was a former party official, and he came up spontaneously at the scene," adding, "It was not prearranged."
