Daegu City Opens Pfizer Vaccine Vaccination Centers by District for Elderly Population
Vaccinations Start April 1 in Jung-gu Area... 1-2 Gathering Sites per Dong Operated
On the 24th, Pfizer vaccines arrived at Seongdong-gu Office, where Seoul's first COVID-19 vaccination center was established, and officials are moving boxes containing the vaccines into the center. The Pfizer vaccines that arrived on this day are the first delivery of the quantity directly contracted by our government with Pfizer and will be used for vaccinations of elderly people aged 75 and over starting from the 1st of next month.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City will begin administering the Pfizer vaccine to elderly residents aged 75 and older at regional vaccination centers starting April 1, to protect the high-risk elderly group from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The vaccination targets are 164,000 elderly residents aged 75 and above (born on or before December 31, 1946), including those residing in elderly care facilities within the region. This effectively marks the start of vaccination for nearly all citizens from that day onward.
Daegu City plans to open one vaccination center in each district and county, and will additionally establish one more center in Dalseo-gu, which has a population exceeding 500,000, by June, operating a total of nine centers.
To facilitate vaccination for the elderly, transportation will be arranged from one or two gathering points in each neighborhood to the vaccination centers. After vaccination and observation for any adverse reactions, they will be guided to use prepared taxis and buses for their return.
To monitor adverse reactions after vaccination, elderly living alone who have completed vaccination will be monitored at least once daily via wired or wireless communication by each eup, myeon, and dong for three days. Additionally, the operation of the '120 Dalgu-beol Call Center' will be expanded to promptly respond to vaccination-related inquiries.
