Earlier, on March 7th at around 10:38 AM, a Galloper vehicle was spotted speeding at 60-80 km/h on a national road in Moseo-myeon, Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk, with a dog tied to the car by its leash.
At the time, Mr. A, who was driving on the opposite side of the road, noticed the vehicle and immediately chased after it. Upon closer inspection, he saw severe wounds on all four paws of the dog tied by the leash, and the road where the vehicle had passed was soaked with what appeared to be the dog's blood. Mr. A reported the situation he witnessed to an animal protection organization, which then filed a complaint with the police against the Galloper driver on charges of animal abuse.
The police believe the dog tied to the vehicle was dragged for over 4 km before collapsing and eventually dying. They identified the driver as a man in his 60s through the vehicle's license plate and investigated him for over three hours.
The driver claimed, "I tied the dog to the car to exercise it," and added, "Since the incident occurred on a Sunday, I couldn't take the dog to the hospital, and I found it dead the next day." The police plan to focus on proving whether the driver intentionally committed abuse.
On the 26th, a petition titled "A dog hanging from a car at 80 km/h, crushed four legs, covered in purple blood - Request for strict punishment for animal abuse" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board. Photo by Blue House National Petition Board capture.
