Suncheon-si Opens Applications for Indoor Healing Garden Kit Support Project
Targeting Local Daycare Centers Until the 2nd of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 29th that it is accepting applications for the indoor healing garden kit support project for daycare centers in the area until the 2nd of next month to spread the urban agriculture boom among future generations.
The project targets children aged 3 to 5 years old in daycare centers, and one set can be applied for every two children.
The selection criteria prioritize daycare centers that have passed the daycare center evaluation certification system or have a B grade or higher in the evaluation system, with differential support according to the number of children enrolled in the daycare center.
The indoor healing garden kits provided this time include six types: musun, cheonggyeongchae, dache, broccoli, alfalfa, and red radish. Each set consists of a cultivation container, stand, seeds, and nonwoven fabric, making it easy to grow sprout vegetables.
Applications for the project are accepted via email to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and application forms can be downloaded from the city and Agricultural Technology Center websites.
A city official said, “We expect that supporting crop cultivation activities for children who have difficulty participating in outdoor experiential activities due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic will allow them to enjoy mental and physical healing and relaxation in their daily lives.”
