Appointment of 9 Members to the Video Rating Board, Including Director Kim Dae-seung
"Considering Expertise, Experience, Gender, and Age Balance in Fields such as Video, Youth, and Law"
On the 26th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the appointment of nine members, including Professor Kim Dae-seung of the Department of Film at Im Kwon-taek College of Film Arts, Dongseo University, to the Video Rating Board. The appointees include Kim Jong-min, CEO of Cineorum; Bok Seong-gyeong, representative of the Busan Democratic Media Citizen's Coalition; Seo Myeong-hee, director of the Parramatta Youth Association; Yoon Young-sang, senior vice president of the National Parents' Association for True Education; Lee Jeong-min, representative lawyer of the law firm Jinsim; Lee Jeong-hyun, non-standing director of the Korean Film Archive; Cho Hye-young, film critic; and Chae Yoon-hee, president of the Women's Film Association. A Ministry of Culture official explained, "The appointments were made after recommendations from the chairman of the National Academy of Arts of Korea, taking into account a balanced consideration of expertise, experience, gender, and age across fields such as culture and arts, film, youth, law, and media." The term of office is three years until March 2024, and the chairperson will be elected by vote at the meeting held on the same day.
