Gyeongnam Province Reports 18 New COVID-19 Cases... Jinju and Geoje Cities Extend Social Distancing Level 2 (Comprehensive)

As of 1:30 PM on the 26th, Cumulative COVID-19 Cases in Gyeongnam Reach 2,834
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 26th, 18 new confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day. By region, there are 7 cases in Jinju City, 7 in Geoje City, 3 in Tongyeong City, and 1 in Hapcheon County.
One confirmed case in Jinju is related to a Jinju company and was classified as case number 2828 after testing positive during quarantine. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Jinju company to 26.
Three confirmed cases related to a Jinju bathhouse tested positive and were classified as case numbers 2832 to 2834. This increases the total number of confirmed cases related to the Jinju bathhouse to 235. The remaining three cases tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province and were classified as case numbers 2835 to 2837.
The seven confirmed cases in Geoje are all related to Geoje entertainment establishments and companies, testing positive and classified as case numbers 2820 to 2823, 2825, 2830, and 2831. This raises the total number of confirmed cases related to Geoje entertainment establishments and companies to 164.
Four people who had contact with existing confirmed cases at a church in Geoje tested positive and were classified as case numbers 2821, 2822, 2823, and 2825. The health authorities tested a total of 40 visitors to the church, with 4 positive and 36 negative results.
Two confirmed cases in Tongyeong and one in Hapcheon tested positive after contact with confirmed cases from other regions and were classified as case numbers 2826, 2827, and 2829. Another Tongyeong confirmed case tested positive after voluntarily getting tested due to symptoms and was classified as case number 2824. The infection route is under investigation.
Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province have increased to 2,834 (394 hospitalized, 2,427 discharged, 13 deceased).

Meanwhile, Jinju City and Geoje City will extend the current Level 2 social distancing and the ban on gatherings at bathhouses and entertainment facilities from March 29 to April 4.
