Average Assets of 50 High-ranking Officials in Incheon 930 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Park Namchun, the mayor of Incheon, was found to be the third wealthiest among metropolitan government heads nationwide. Additionally, the average assets of 50 high-ranking Incheon officials, including mayors, county heads, and district chiefs, amount to 930 million KRW.
According to the 2021 regular asset change reports disclosed by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on the 25th, Mayor Park reported assets worth 2.677 billion KRW, ranking third among 15 metropolitan government heads nationwide.
Mayor Park holds 700 million KRW in apartment assets, no land, and a significant portion of his assets are in deposits, including 1 billion KRW in his own savings and 900 million KRW in his wife's savings.
Also, Do Seonghun, Superintendent of Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, reported assets of 379 million KRW, ranking 15th among 17 city and provincial superintendents nationwide, and Shin Eunho, Chairman of the Incheon City Council, reported 334 million KRW, ranking 11th among 17 members.
Among the 10 county heads and district chiefs in Incheon, Lee Jaehyun, the Seo-gu District Chief, reported the highest assets at 2.1 billion KRW, while Ko Namseok, the Yeonsu-gu District Chief, reported the lowest at 410 million KRW.
Among Incheon city council members, Kim Junsik (Yeonsu 4) of the Democratic Party recorded the highest assets at 7.59 billion KRW, while Son Minho (Gyeyang 1) of the same party recorded the lowest at -89 million KRW.
The average assets of 50 high-ranking Incheon officials, including mayors, county heads, district chiefs, first-level public officials, and city council members, managed by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee, amount to 930 million KRW.
Additionally, among 118 county and district council members subject to asset disclosure by the Incheon City Ethics Committee and 8 heads of public-related organizations subject to disclosure, totaling 126 individuals, the average assets were 796 million KRW.

The city ethics committee will conduct asset reviews on the reported assets until the end of June. If it is found that a public official has falsely or negligently reported assets or formed assets through improper or illegal means, measures such as warnings, fines, dismissal, or disciplinary requests will be taken depending on the severity.
