Gwanak-gu Byeolbitnaerimcheon Disaster Prevention Facility Enhancement: Challenge to Zero Safety Accidents
Establishment of Remote Control Surveillance System with Entry-Exit Barriers and CCTV at All Entrances and Exits... Additional Installation of Voice-Output Warning Lights to Prompt Swift Evacuation of Residents During Heavy Rainfall
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is reinforcing disaster prevention facilities by additionally installing remote access control barriers and voice-output warning lights to prevent isolation accidents of residents using Byeolbitnaerin Stream during heavy summer rains.
Byeolbitnaerin Stream is a representative waterfront space that serves as a leisure area for residents and an urban ecological park, frequently visited by residents. However, due to the many entrances and exits, it has been difficult to control access during nighttime or sudden heavy rains, raising ongoing safety concerns.
Accordingly, the district is installing and operating access control barriers, alarm broadcast systems, and voice-output warning lights to prevent isolation accidents at Byeolbitnaerin Stream, making every effort to prevent safety accidents.
In addition, two more remote access control devices will be installed by May at existing 43 entrances and exits, expanding coverage to all access points in the area.
Detection sensors will be installed on 20 existing barriers without sensors, allowing the barriers to open automatically when evacuating from inside, and manual open buttons will be added to enhance functionality so that barriers can be opened directly.
Furthermore, the barriers will be replaced with devices that minimize the empty space underneath when operating, to more strictly control access of visitors to Byeolbitnaerin Stream during heavy rains.
In the section from Sindaebang Station to Guro Digital Station, where voice-output warning lights were not previously installed, 14 new voice-output warning lights will be installed to guide residents to evacuate quickly with voice announcements and flashing emergency lights when water levels rise.
Meanwhile, the district is monitoring entrances, exits, and remote-controlled barriers from the control room through 45 CCTV cameras installed for surveillance along the Byeolbitnaerin Stream section, ensuring residents’ safety during emergencies such as heavy rains.
