On the 22nd, SBS '8 News' reported that on the 20th, a man committing public indecency on a city bus in Daegu was caught thanks to the quick thinking of the bus driver.
According to the SBS report, a woman sitting in the back seat of the bus that night stood up hurriedly with a flustered expression.
Then, the man sitting next to her quickly adjusted his pants and tried to follow her off the bus.
Feeling threatened, the woman approached the bus driver to ask for help, and the man attempted to escape.
The man tried to flee by kicking the rear door and opening the window, claiming he urgently needed to use the restroom, but was stopped by the bus driver.
Realizing the situation, the bus driver quickly closed the bus doors to prevent the man from escaping and called the police, enabling the man to be arrested on the spot.
The bus driver recalled, "As soon as I heard the story, the man tried to run away, so I closed all the doors and restrained him from then on," adding, "I thought I absolutely had to catch him."
After stopping the bus and closing the doors, the man in his 40s repeatedly tried to calm the situation and escape during the roughly 10 minutes waiting for the police, but was ultimately caught by the responding officers as a suspect caught in the act.
It was revealed that this man had committed similar crimes multiple times in the past.
