Fire at Rohingya Refugee Camp in Bangladesh... At Least 7 Dead

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. However, it is reported that the initially small fire intensified after spreading to a cooking gas cylinder.
According to AFP, about 900 shanties, home to approximately 7,400 residents, were burned. The Guardian reported that although the number of casualties has not yet been fully counted, at least 7 people, including children and women, have died.
The flames were contained only after more than 10 hours. In Cox's Bazar, three fires have occurred in the past four days.

The number of Rohingya refugees residing in Cox's Bazar is estimated to be about 1 million. The Guardian explained, "This fire started in one of the 34 camps and spread to two others."
