'Land of Life' Documentary Photo Exhibition Held at Gwangju University Hosim Art Museum
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju University announced on the 23rd that a documentary photo exhibition reinterpreting the lives of the people in Gochang from different photographic perspectives will be held at the Hosim Art Museum on campus until the 2nd of next month.
The exhibition, featuring seven members of the Korea Regional Photography Research Association, mainly composed of graduate students from Gwangju University's Department of Photography, is presented under the theme "The Land of the Living."
Over the past three years, the photographers lived with the people of Gochang's communities and expressed delicate and meaningful perspectives through 43 works.
In particular, the exhibition focuses on the resilience hidden in the corners of everyday life, where nothing special happens, by highlighting those born and raised in the Gochang area who have lived in the same place continuously.

Hong Seok-rye, president of the Korea Regional Photography Research Association, said, "Photography is not about creating but about reinterpreting objects," adding, "We plan to continue creative activities to assign new meanings to local landscapes and for visual reinterpretation."
