Daejeon City Provides Full Support for Engine Replacement of Old Construction Machinery
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will fully support the engine replacement costs for old construction machinery.
The city announced on the 23rd that it will accept applications starting from the 24th of this month and support engine replacements for a total of 250 old construction machines.
The support targets are old forklifts and excavators equipped with old engines that meet Tier 1 or lower emission standards and are based in Daejeon.
Applications should be made by consulting with the equipment manufacturer about the possibility of engine replacement, obtaining support approval from the city through the manufacturer, and then proceeding with the engine replacement in order.
The city plans to invest 4.1 billion KRW in this project.

Lee Won-cheon, head of the Fine Dust Response Division of the city, said, “The old construction machinery engine replacement support project is being promoted to reduce emissions,” and added, “We ask for the active interest and participation of construction machinery owners to reduce fine dust in the region.”
