Professor Kim Minhwan of Honam University Awarded 'Minister of Environment' Commendation at World Water Day Ceremony
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University announced on the 22nd that Professor Kim Min-hwan of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering was selected as a water management meritorious person for this year's 'World Water Day' and received a commendation from the Minister of Environment.
Professor Kim received the commendation from the Minister of Environment at the '2021 World Water Day Ceremony' held at 2 p.m. in the 4th-floor conference room of Gwangju City Hall, in recognition of his contributions to water management policy promotion and the development of environmental administration through water resources.
Specializing in water resources engineering, Professor Kim has led the creation of a water circulation leading city as the co-chairman of the Gwangju Water Circulation Committee. He has also served as a key member of Gwangju City (Regional Water Resources Management Committee, Disaster Impact Assessment Committee, Construction Technology Review Committee) and the Ministry of Environment (Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office, Yeongsan River Flood Control Office, etc.), continuously conducting research on climate change response and natural disaster mitigation.
