Ministry of Industry Holds '2021 Robot Future Strategy Conference'
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Sung Yun-mo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, emphasized that he will actively support the robotics industry through proactive regulatory innovation to enter the global top 4 robot powerhouse countries.
On the 23rd, Minister Sung stated in a video congratulatory message at the '2021 Robot Future Strategy Conference' held both online and offline at COEX, "With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies and the non-face-to-face demand caused by COVID-19, the demand for robots in various fields is explosively increasing, opening a new era of great navigation for the robotics industry."
Held for the second time following last year, this event was organized to explore the direction our robotics industry should take in an era where coexistence between humans and robots becomes commonplace. Minister Sung emphasized, "We will actively promote support for the robotics industry, including proactive regulatory innovation, securing core robotics technologies, and expanding distribution, to achieve the goal of entering the global top 4 robot powerhouse countries."

The conference was structured in the order of two keynote speeches, a talk show, and four invited lectures. First, in a lecture titled "Post-COVID-19 Social Outlook and the Future of Robots," changes in labor due to the emergence of new technologies such as robots and artificial intelligence, and future cooperative communication methods between humans and robots were presented. Discussions were also held on ways to enhance the social acceptance of robots in the era of great navigation, where robot utilization is explosively expanding across various fields.
