Musical 'Dracula' Opens Its Fourth Season on May 18
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The musical 'Dracula' will open its fourth season on May 18 at Blue Square Shinhan Card Hall.
Production company Odi Company announced on the 22nd that to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, it will present the musical 'Dracula' as its second lineup. The musical 'Dracula' is based on the 1897 novel of the same name by Irish author Bram Stoker and beautifully and poignantly depicts the story of Count Dracula, who has loved only one woman for over 400 years.
Lyricist and playwright Don Black and Christopher Hampton mystically portray the characters on the boundary between reality and fantasy, creating a captivating story. Additionally, the musical elements, combining the lyrical music of Frank Wildhorn, famous for the musical 'Jekyll & Hyde,' with pop and rock, dramatically blend with the story, offering the audience an unforgettable catharsis.
Premiered on Broadway in 2004, 'Dracula' has been performed in various countries including Switzerland, Austria, and Japan, receiving much love and praise from audiences and critics alike for its enchanting story and sophisticated music.
In Korea, it premiered in 2014 at the Opera Theater of the Seoul Arts Center. Each ticket opening caused the reservation server to crash due to enthusiastic responses, surpassing 100,000 viewers within two months of opening.
