[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is recruiting members for the ‘Jungnang-gu Cooperative Governance Council Subcommittees’ to propose ideas necessary for regional development.
The Jungnang-gu Cooperative Governance Council Subcommittees consist of four divisions: Education & Culture, Economy & Jobs, Welfare & Health, and Urban & Construction, with a two-year term for members.
Members will have 2 to 3 quarterly meetings to discuss and share opinions on important and urgent local issues that need to be resolved by residents.
The recruitment target is about 10 members per subcommittee, totaling 40 members.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Jungnang-gu Office Village Cooperation Division or by email (ki2356@jn.go.kr) by the 31st. Detailed information is available on the Jungnang-gu Office website.
Agendas discovered through the subcommittees and various public forums by neighborhood and theme undergo a comprehensive review process regarding feasibility and necessity at the ‘Jungnang-gu Cooperative Governance Council.’
The final selected agendas will be reflected in the ‘2022 Regional Community Innovation Plan’ and materialized into projects that improve residents’ quality of life.
Last year, seven agendas directly proposed by residents, such as ‘Creating Shared Spaces in Our Neighborhood,’ ‘Activating Alley Shared Parking,’ and ‘Establishing an Ecological Cultural Playground,’ were selected as 2021 agendas and are currently being implemented this year.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “Residents living in the area know the local issues best,” and added, “We hope for the interest and support of those who will join us for the cooperative governance development of the local community.”
