Land Purchased Under Nominee Names Including Civil Servant's Own Name and Direct Ascendants/Descendants
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Paju City in Gyeonggi Province is operating a voluntary reporting center to identify public officials who purchased real estate using insider information.
On the 19th, Paju City announced, "We are accepting voluntary reports regarding purchases of land related to recent development projects, including development areas and planned sites within the region, made under the names of public officials themselves or their immediate family members as nominees."
The city plans to expand to internal investigations if a public official investigation is necessary, and if the reported content is confirmed as a criminal act, strict measures such as requesting police investigations will be taken.
