Seoul City Recruiting 2nd Term of Residential Environment Improvement Project Support Team 'Ojiraper'
Recruiting 16 Citizens to Explain and Promote the Residential Environment Improvement Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 19th that it is recruiting 16 members for the 2nd term of the housing environment improvement project support group ‘Ojiraper,’ operated with the participation of citizens interested in revitalizing villages and communities within low-rise residential areas, until April 6.
Seoul selected 12 ‘Ojiraper’ members last year with the aim of conveying difficult administrative terms in the language and experience of residents, and held ‘visiting project briefings’ by visiting 10 villages including Neoreunteul Village in Guro-gu.
This year, Seoul plans to hold consecutive ‘visiting project briefings’ from May to August for about four months through a total of 20 Ojiraper members, including 16 new participants and 4 who showed excellent activities last year, directly visiting villages participating in the managed housing environment improvement project to support project explanation and promotion.
The 16 newly selected ‘Ojiraper’ members of the 2nd term will complete essential education related to village projects and communities for four weeks starting in April, and then will work as ‘Ojiraper’ connecting administration and residents more closely. Key project officials will participate in the education operation, and through vivid project explanations and Q&A sessions, they plan to develop the capabilities of ‘Ojiraper’ members who best understand the purpose and direction of Seoul’s housing environment improvement projects.
The application form for participation in Ojiraper can be downloaded from the Seoul Metropolitan Government website, and the final selection will be decided through evaluation by experts in related fields and individually notified on April 17. However, current urban regeneration or village community activists are excluded from the recruitment target.
