[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) conducted a COVID-19 vaccine inoculation simulation training on the morning of the 18th at Seoul's first COVID-19 vaccination center established in the Seongdong-gu Office.
The training, held on the 3rd floor of Seongdong-gu Office, was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Seoul City to review the operational appropriateness and conduct a final check for unexpected situations ahead of the official opening of the local vaccination center.
The simulation training took place from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, involving 4 doctors and 8 nurses from Seoul National University Hospital, which is entrusted with vaccine administration, along with 17 administrative staff from Seongdong-gu Office.
Approximately 100 public officials from other autonomous districts within Seoul participated, acting as vaccine recipients to experience the vaccination procedures.
The training assumed an actual Pfizer vaccine inoculation scenario, covering all work stages from vaccine preparation to post-vaccination adverse reaction monitoring.
Additionally, a response drill for adverse reactions was conducted, including initial emergency measures and transportation by ambulance to the emergency room.
The Seoul City’s first vaccination center, located in Seongdong-gu Office, is the nation’s first specialized operational model where a higher-level hospital, Seoul National University Hospital, is fully responsible for vaccination operations.
On the 9th, Seongdong-gu, Seoul City, and Seoul National University Hospital signed a business agreement regarding the operation of Seoul City’s first vaccination center.
Seoul City provides financial and administrative support such as labor costs, while Seoul National University Hospital is entrusted with medical staff support, vaccine administration and management, initial response to adverse reactions, and treatment coordination with hospitals.
Seongdong-gu handles the practical operation and administrative support of the vaccination process.
The Seongdong-gu COVID-19 vaccination center spans a total area of 945㎡, can vaccinate 600 people per day, and plans to open on the 31st of this month (tentatively) after receiving Pfizer vaccines on the 24th.
