Chungbuk Supports Childbirth for Women with Disabilities with 1 Million Won per Fetus
[Asia Economy (Chungbuk) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungbuk Province supports childbirth expenses for local women with disabilities.
The province announced on the 17th that it has allocated a budget of 55 million KRW this year to support childbirth expenses for women with disabilities.
The support targets women with disabilities residing in Chungbuk (including registered foreign disabled persons), regardless of income, who have given birth or experienced miscarriage/stillbirth (pregnancy period of 4 months or more, with a doctor's certificate or medical opinion attached) since January 1.
The support amount is up to 1 million KRW per fetus, and applications can be made by the individual or their family.
Residents wishing to apply should bring their ID, birth certificate or medical diagnosis issued by a medical institution, and a copy of a bankbook in the name of the woman with a disability to the Eup/Myeon/Dong administrative welfare center for in-person application, or apply online through the Happy Childbirth One-Stop Service or Government24.

Kim Jeong-gi, head of the Elderly and Disabled Division of the province, said, “By supporting childbirth expenses for women with disabilities, we aim to minimize their financial burden related to childbirth.”
