Geochang-gun, Building Social Consensus on Low Birthrate ... Family Photo Contest
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that it will hold the ‘2021 Geochang-gun Family Photo Contest’ to create a family-friendly social atmosphere and build social consensus to overcome low birth rates.
This contest invites submissions under the theme ‘Happy Geochang with Family,’ including ▲photos capturing the birth and growth of adorable children ▲photos of caring fathers participating in housework and childcare ▲happy family photos with multiple children and multi-generations ▲family photos taken with Geochang’s scenic spots as the background.
Any resident of Geochang-gun can participate, and submissions are limited to two photos per family. Residents wishing to apply can download the application form from the Geochang-gun official website, fill out the photo file, title, and brief description, and submit them via email to the family photo contest manager by April 16.
Among the submitted works, 53 final entries will be selected through a fair evaluation process. Prize money will be awarded as follows: Grand Prize (1 person) 300,000 KRW, Excellence Prize (2 persons) 200,000 KRW each, Encouragement Prize (5 persons) 100,000 KRW each, and Honorable Mention (45 persons) 20,000 KRW each, paid in cash and Geochang Love Gift Certificates.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “Through the family photo contest, I hope to remind everyone of the importance of family once again and lay the foundation for building stronger family bonds during the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The results will be individually notified on May 4 and can also be checked on the county office website. Selected works will be used for future promotional materials related to Geochang-gun’s population policy and exhibited at the opening ceremonies of Changpoweon and Geochang Anti-aging Healing Land.
