Samsung to Conduct Innovation Leader Training Program for Partners Until July... "Securing Competitiveness"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung Electronics is continuing theoretical education and on-site mentoring through its third year of the Partner Company Innovation Leader Training Program.
According to Samsung Electronics on the 15th, the 3rd session of the Partner Company Innovation Leader Training Program started on the 22nd of last month and will continue until July. This program, which has been conducted since 2019, is designed to help partner companies secure competitiveness and overcome technological limitations by focusing on training leaders who can achieve results in various projects. This time, 17 companies are participating.
Samsung Electronics introduced the main educational method of this program as "TRIZ." It is applicable to all fields including technology, products, and management, providing concrete and immediately usable training. The program uses the same content as Samsung Electronics' innovation expert training course, focusing on listening to the on-site situations faced by partner companies and finding practical solutions. The course consists of a comprehensive understanding of the TRIZ method, discovering on-site tasks and mentoring, and presenting analysis of the results.
Kim Sang-guk, manager at Dongyang ENP, a partner company of Samsung Electronics' Wireless Division, said, "Among mass-produced products, the connector part inside the mobile phone charger frequently became loose and stopped working. Until now, when problems occurred, improvement activities were conducted based on in-house or similar industry cases, but after receiving innovation leader training, we learned how to broaden the scope to all industries to find improvement methods." He added, "By discussing countermeasures from multiple angles and thoroughly verifying their effectiveness, we were able to solve the fundamental cause."
Samsung Electronics explained that as various problems that partner companies had been struggling with were resolved, tangible results were also achieved. Park Su-neung, an engineer at SFA Semiconductor, which supplies products to Samsung Electronics' Semiconductor (DS) Division, said, "The hourly production per equipment improved by 85%. If the device previously produced 800 units, it can now produce 1,480 units." He explained, "Despite increasing production volume like this, there were no breakdowns or quality degradation."
