[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 15th that it will support agricultural machinery worth 3.3 billion KRW, including agricultural drones and forklifts, for farmers who are experiencing difficulties in farming due to labor shortages caused by rural aging.
The agricultural machinery support project is a program that supports 50% of the purchase price of agricultural machinery. The selection of supported farms is comprehensively evaluated based on the project plan evaluation, subsidy support history, farming scale, and eco-friendly farming certification status, and the project recipients are selected by the selection committee.
The county plans to supply a total of 545 units before May, the start of the full-scale farming season, including 311 small agricultural machines, 77 medium and large agricultural machines, 27 agricultural drones, 28 agricultural forklifts, 14 grain dryers, and 1 wide-area sprayer, to reduce agricultural production costs and improve agricultural competitiveness.
In addition, to compensate for physical and economic losses of farmers caused by agricultural machinery safety accidents during operation, farmers are being guided to mandatorily subscribe to comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance.
In particular, 200 agricultural machinery lighting devices will be provided free of charge to prevent collisions with automobiles during nighttime road driving or rainy weather.
