Mokpo City Completes Second Round of COVID-19 Vaccinations

According to Mokpo City on the 15th, vaccinations were distributed to avoid disruption to medical institution services, with 689 people vaccinated at two psychiatric ward-operating medical institutions and 1,972 people at 18 high-risk medical institutions of hospital level or higher.
The city completed the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccinations for 1,634 people, including workers and residents (patients) under 65 years old at nine nursing hospitals and 20 elderly care facilities in the area, from the 26th of last month to the 5th.
As a result, the cumulative number of AstraZeneca vaccine recipients in Mokpo City, including the second phase of vaccinations, totaled 4,295.
Except for mild flu-like symptoms such as muscle pain, fever, and headache after vaccination, no significant adverse reactions have been reported.
The city plans to start Pfizer vaccine inoculations for 186 medical staff, including those at Mokpo City Medical Center (COVID-19 patient treatment hospital), starting on the 16th.

A city official stated, “Even after completing the first and second doses, it is important to follow personal quarantine rules such as wearing masks until immunity is secured. We will promptly inform and carry out vaccinations for the general public according to the government’s vaccination plan, and we will do our best to ensure safe vaccinations, including managing adverse reactions and maintaining proper vaccine storage temperatures.”
