Nakdonggang Biological Resources Center Opens Immersive Microorganism Experience Hall Using VR and AR Digital Technologies on the 16th
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] The Nakdong River National Institute of Biological Resources, under the Ministry of Environment, announced on the 15th that it will open the 'Microorganism Experience Center,' an immersive exhibition and experience space combining microorganisms and information communication technology, starting on the 16th at the Biological Nuri Center located in Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk.
This experience center was created using digital technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to allow anyone to easily and enjoyably learn about the diverse roles of microorganisms and their value as biological resources.
The experience center utilizes a total area of 200㎡ within the Biological Nuri Center and consists of five digital interactive corners, including 'Who Am I?' where visitors can experience various reactions and movements of microorganisms, and 'Where Can I Meet You?' where visitors can explore the types, roles, and ecology of microorganisms living in our living spaces and natural environments.

Kim Hak-gi, Head of Management at the Nakdong River National Institute of Biological Resources, said, "This experience center will establish itself as an exhibition space that highlights the diverse roles of microorganisms," adding, "Over the next two years, we plan to expand various digital content and spaces to make it the top-level microorganism exhibition and experience center in Korea."
