Kim Jong-in "LH Speculation Allegations, Support Special Prosecutor... Let's Proceed with Prosecutor's Investigation First"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, on the 12th demanded that the prosecution start an investigation first regarding the land speculation allegations involving employees of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and then transfer the case to a special prosecutor. He supports the special prosecutor but insists that the prosecution must conduct the investigation first to prevent evidence destruction.
On the same day, Chairman Kim stated in a separate press release to reporters, "Our party does not oppose the special prosecutor," adding, "Thorough investigations are necessary to eradicate corruption and wrongdoing."
He pointed out, "We must not lose precious time to a special prosecutor who may take several months to be launched," and said, "It is difficult to understand why the Blue House and the ruling party are avoiding prosecution investigations out of fear." He continued, "I want to ask why they are presenting the public with detours when there is a faster way," and stated, "After the special prosecutor is launched, the ongoing prosecution investigation can be transferred. We demand that the prosecution investigation begin immediately."
