Seoul's Level 1 COVID-19 Vaccination Rate Surpasses 50%... Nursing Hospitals and Nursing Homes Near 80%
848 Cases of Suspected Adverse Reactions Reported... 1.2% of All Vaccinated

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The first phase of COVID-19 vaccination rate in Seoul has surpassed half. The vaccination rate among nursing hospital and nursing home recipients is approaching 80%.
According to Seoul City on the 11th, as of midnight, 72,660 people, or 52.7% of the first phase vaccination target group, have completed their first dose. Seoul City plans to complete vaccination for the first phase target group by April.
By institution, 13,566 inpatients and workers at nursing hospitals have completed vaccination, recording a vaccination rate of 79.0%, and 6,052 residents and workers at nursing homes have completed their first dose, raising the vaccination rate to 78.2%. Among the first responders to COVID-19, 2,965 people, or 29.0%, have been vaccinated, and 43,775 people at hospital-level or higher medical institutions have been vaccinated, recording a vaccination rate of 48.8%.
There have been 848 suspected adverse reaction reports following vaccination as of the day before, accounting for 1.2% of vaccine recipients. Among the reported cases, 99.2% were symptoms such as vomiting, fever, and nausea.
Park Yumi, the quarantine control officer, urged, "Please participate in all upcoming vaccinations so that herd immunity can be smoothly formed."
Meanwhile, Seoul City announced that among confirmed COVID-19 cases identified in Seoul since January last year, the proportion of foreigners was 3.9%. As of midnight on the same day, among the cumulative 29,557 confirmed cases in Seoul, 1,138 were foreigners.
There have been no confirmed cases in Seoul yet from the cluster infection among foreigners in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province, which has recently raised concerns. This cluster infection has resulted in at least 160 confirmed cases nationwide.

Officer Park emphasized, "Although proactive testing is being conducted targeting foreigners, some avoid testing due to concerns about identity exposure, so we ask for active participation." He added, "So far, there have been no confirmed cases of illegal immigrants testing positive in Seoul."
