Bezos Appoints Andrew Steer as CEO of Climate Change Fund
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, has appointed Andrew Steer, a former CEO of a nonprofit environmental think tank, as the CEO of the Earth Fund. The Earth Fund was established by Bezos, who donated $1 billion of his own money to address climate change.
On the 9th (local time), Bezos posted on his Instagram, "Andrew Steer, CEO of the World Resources Institute (WRI), will lead the Earth Fund," adding, "I look forward to what lies ahead for the Earth Fund."
Launched by Bezos in February last year, the Earth Fund supports scientists, activists, and environmental organizations dedicated to protecting and conserving nature with the goal of combating climate change.
