Candidate Oh stated, "The period when he (Minister Byun) served as LH president exactly coincides with the timing of LH employees' land speculation," adding, "Just by looking at these objective facts, Minister Byun Chang-heum has already lost his position as the person responsible for overseeing critical real estate policies."
In addition, candidate Oh mentioned controversies during the Land Ministry ministerial confirmation hearing and demanded his resignation. He referred to Minister Byun's controversial remarks toward tenants of rental housing during his tenure as SH Corporation president, his inappropriate comments about the victims of the Guui Station accident, allegations of favoritism toward acquaintances, tax delinquency, and vehicle seizure.
